I took a trip down to my local Ulta the other day and left with some CRAZY nails! Before I made my final purchases, I tested the color and texture of each bottle with a quick dot on my nails. The next day I was meeting up with a good friend who also happens to be a nail polish fiend! I did not want to subject her (or the general public) to my crazy polkadot nails, so before our lunch date I quickly threw on my two new polishes from the Nicole by OPI Selena Gomez collection: the peachy pink “Selena” all over and AMAZING rainbow glitter “Confetti Fun” on the tips. Believe it or not, these are my first OPI polishes in several years–and I’m very happy with them! They have a much shorter, fatter brush and smoother application than what I remembered. The mani came out a little messier than I would like, but that’s only because I was in a hurry and didn’t take my time. Nothing a little nail polish remover won’t fix–and now my nails look like a pretty pink cupcake!

The Next Generation of Polish: Incoco

I recently received an amazing care package from the kind people over at Incoco, makers of the original (and often-imitated) non-liquid nail polish strips.

Right out of the box, the first thing I noticed about Incoco’s nail polish strips was the amazing glitter-factor. While some other brands have polish strips with a somewhat glittery finish, Incoco’s really look like individual pieces of sparkling glitter.

I’m so excited to share some fresh work from Barnaby Ward with you today! He has released five brand new limited-edition prints on INPRNT– including my two favorites, Galapagos, above, and Takaashigani Pink, below. I adore the bright neon colors and uncluttered backgrounds in all of his new pieces, which also continue his theme of cute girls posing with weird creatures. Barnaby remains one of my favorite artists, and his latest offerings have my walls calling out for some new prints. Check ‘em out!

Playing Dress-Up with Broadway Nails Nail Dress Stick-On Wraps

Broadway Nails has a new line of colorful, fun, and unique nail wraps along the same lines of Sally Hansen Salon Effects. At just $5, Broadway’s Nail Dress Stick-On Wraps sell for about half the price of Salon Effects–and the quality is correspondingly a bit lacking. Unlike Salon Effects, which adhere to nails just like real nail polish and last about a week, Broadway’s Nail Dress Stick-On Wraps are just that: stickers, with a tendency to peel and fray after awhile.

Still, Broadway’s cute wraps do serve their own unique purpose, and definitely deserve their place in the beauty aisle of drugstores everywhere. They are very easy to apply and last a couple of days before beginning to peel (with topcoat), making them perfect for a special occasion or for use on accent nails. Plus, I love the rainbow animal-print design I picked out–it is my favorite so far of all the Salon Effects and Nail Dress designs combined!

Soften and Smooth with Qtica Sugar Scrub

Gotta love gifts with purchase! That’s how I got a free 7 ounce tube of Grapefruit Surprise Sugar Scrub by Qtica Smart Spa, a $14 value. Qtica is the bath/body branch of Art of Beauty, which also manufactures my favorite brand of nail polish, Zoya. Their sugar scrub is densely packed with exfoliating sugar crystals, yet promises not to clog drains after softening your skin.

Qtica’s Sugar Scrub performs best as a spot treatment on hands, feet, or other areas as needed–perfect for at-home manis and pedis. The sugar crystals last long enough to give skin a good scrub, but dissolve quickly enough to wash away cleanly and leave skin seriously soft. The formula is very thick, however, and not really suitable for all-over body use.

As for the scent? To be honest, I may be a little biased–grapefruit is not my fave. If I could have selected from all the available scents I would have gone for the Pomegranate Lime, but Grapefruit Surprise gets the job done. It’s a light citrus scent with just a touch of sweetness.
